Most of the railway communication between Penza and Moscow is operated by two services: the Sura branded train and a direct express train, highly affordable in terms of ticket prices. Kazansky railway station is the departure point for trains bound for Penza and is one of Moscow’s largest railway stations. It is city’s only station offering direct access to the city via the platform of the Komsomolskaya metro station. Next to Komsomolskaya square, where the station is located, there are several highly affordable hotels and hostels.
